My wife and I make our home on Vancouver Island in a town in the northern part.  We enjoy the  slower life style.  The clean air, the nearness to the outdoors and the sense of community closeness is attractive to us.   People are friendly, and here neighbors look out for each other.   The area is beautiful, the weather is moderate and we are close to every facility we need whether for shopping or for sports activities.  We can be salt or fresh water fishing or on a hiking trail within minutes.  A ski hill is  an hour away.

We came here many years ago for just two years, but guess what?  We raised our kids here, and after all of those years in this community we’re entertaining no thoughts of leaving.
